Lia Lawton

About

At Walker Law Group, Lia has experience with work injury damages, civil liability, occupiers’ liability and judicial review.

Lia graduated from the Australian National University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Civil Law (Dist). Her interest in law is eclectic, with a passion ranging from judicial review, torts, equity, and evidence.

Lia is also the recipient of the 2018 Ann Downer Memorial Prize in Law, awarded by the ANU, alongside the 2023 Hart Prize for Jurisprudence and Political Theory and the 2023 Law Faculty Prize for Constitutional Theory, both awarded by the University of Oxford.

Lia was admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of NSW in May 2021 and is a current member of the NSW law society.

Lia was promoted to Senior Associate in 2023. She is also reading for her DPhil in Law.

Outside of the law, she enjoys hiking, cinema, literature, and Irish folk music.
