Motor Vehicle Accident Claim $480,000

Louise was involved in a motor accident on 29 September 2012.

She was a passenger in a motor vehicle being driven by her partner.  They were on their way to Nambucca Heads when their vehicle collided head on with an oncoming truck.

Louise was hospitalised for some time following the accident and was only able to return to work as an HR Systems Trainer and Recruiter six months later.

She gradually returned to full time duties but experienced continual wrist pain and also because of the motor accident had to deal with a gastrointestinal condition which will require ongoing medication for the rest of her life.

Louise made a motor vehicle compensation claim for compensation on the third party insurer of the vehicle that she was in and the insurer admitted fault.  In early May 2014 when the insurer made an offer to Louise to finalise her claim in the total sum of $380,000.00 an amount was allowed for pain and suffering as part of the offer.

Louise handled the claim herself until in April 2014 Louise approached the Walker Law Group.  The challenge was to provide her with appropriate legal advice and act for her to negotiate a more appropriate settlement figure.

This was achieved in just over two months, in June 2014 when at an informal settlement conference Louise with Walker Law Group’s help was able to finalise her claim for $480,000 all inclusive, $100,000.00 more than the offer made by the insurer to her directly.

Louise was delighted with the result.
